Inn of Last Resort
Roatan, Bay Islands

EXPLORING PARADISE

A private vacation resort for divers and non-divers alike. Although experienced divers have enjoyed Roatan for many years, its unspoiled beauty is just being discovered by those new to diving and vacationers who are looking to get away from it all.

The Inn of last Resort is tucked into Roatan's palm bedecked hills on a private peninsula with a lagoon opening onto the translucent Caribbean Sea. There are 30 air-conditioned rooms serviced by an experienced staff. The enchanting lodge/restaurant at the water's edge serves three delicious meals in a warm and intimate atmosphere. The spacious bar/lounge is available for a leisurely drink or a variety of board games. There is a gift shop for native souvenirs and necessities.

Sparkling blue waters ripple beneath an azure sky with consistently balmy weather. Countless number of tropical fish and 65 of the 67 known Caribbean corals make up the rainbow of colors blanketed across pristine reefs. Enjoy spectacular warm water diving with water temperatures averaging 80 degrees Fahrenheit and 80 to 150 feet visibility.

Two 42-foot dive boats are berthed alongside the resort. Our large dive shop can supply all equipment for your diving pleasure. Dive referral for open water certification is available. Experience the breathtaking beauty of this lush tropical island and the magic of diving the 2nd largest reek in the world.

Snorkel or dive with the dolphins at the Institute of Marine Sciences, then visit the museum for a history of the island. For the novice snorkler we offer instruction, a beginner floater vest and gear at no charge for use in the clear waters of protected lagoon.

The island has much to offer the nature lover. Hike the trails of beautiful Carambola Gardens up to a spectacular view of the island and don't miss the Tropical Bird Park and Iguana Farm.

Renting a jeep and exploring the island is fun and safe. Head east and experience photo ops that will take your breath away. Make a stop at Oakridge to cruise the mangrove canals in a kayuka and then visit Marble Hill farms for their homemade tropical jams and exotic batik clothing. On your way back to the inn stop at Tres Flores, Tex-Mex cafe perched atop the jungle with a 360-degree view for a cool drink at sunset.

Feeling adventurous? White water rafting is available as a day trip to mainland Honduras. Perhaps just relaxing in a hammock and enjoying the gentle breezes in our courtyard or at the lagoon while you read a book from our well stocked library is what you really need.
