Interior   Diving   Diving Sites

The Sere was designed by Colin Dunlop, originally a Scot but now Fijian, in close consultation with Greg Lawlor. The main criteria were comfort, aesthetics, suitability for diving and trans Pacific capabilities.

The vessel is in effect a private yacht with emphasis on uncrowded easy diving access. For privacy the crew are accommodated in the forward section of the vessel where their living, eating, and recreational spaces are separate from the passenger areas. The sound proofed engine and machinery space is located at the very aft end of the vessel to keep to a minimum any sound emission. The cabin area is in the central part of the vessel where movement is the least and access to all areas is the easiest.

Designed to Australian Class 1 B standard with all present day safety features including three separate watertight spaces and double bottom tankage through the hull.

Construction of the hull is steel with all superstructure above the main deck being of marine grade aluminium.

The wheel house is equipped with all latest navigational aids including GPS, Autopilot, VHF & SSB communication, Radar and Depth Sounder.

Fuel water and refrigeration capabilities allow trips of up to two weeks duration with ease.

All vital equipment including main propulsion, electricity generation, air compressors, pumps, etc. are duplicated for redundancy purposes.
