Where is Truk?
Truk is one of the four states of the Federated States of Micronesia, located in the southwestern Pacific Ocean just north of the equator. It lies west of Honolulu, east of Guam, and about 700 miles north of Papua New Guinea.

How long are the flights to Truk?
A flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu takes about 5 hours. From Honolulu, you'll board the Continental Micronesia "Island Hopper". Its route is Honolulu to Majuro in the Marshall Islands (5 hours), to Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands (1 hour), to Kosrae (1 hour), to Pohnpei (1 hour), to Truk (1 hour), to Guam (1.5 hours). So Honolulu to Truk requires 9 hours of flying time. An alternate route is to fly from Honolulu to Guam (8 hours), and then over to Truk (1.5 hours).

What currency do they use?
The official currency is the US dollar.

What language is spoken?
English is the official language of government and commerce. Chuukese is the local language.

Do I need a passport?
Visitors may enter on a 30 day tourism visa if they have a passport valid for 120 days past the date of departure from the FSM and a return or onward ticket.

Electricity?
Truk uses standard 110 volt outlets (same as US).

What are the luggage restrictions?
Please check with your airlines regarding luggage requirements and restrictions.

What airlines fly to Truk?
Continental Airlines (Continental Micronesia).

Will someone pick us up from the airport?
Yes, we always arrange for transfers to and from the airport.

What’s the diving like?
Truk Lagoon is the greatest wreck diving destination in the world! More than 60 WWII Japanese war ships and aircraft were sunk during Operation Hailstorm in February of 1944. Now they lie peacefully on the lagoon floor waiting to be explored.

What is a typical dive day like?
Most divers enjoy three to four dives a day, two in the morning, one or two in the afternoon. Night dives are also available.

What thickness wetsuit do you recommend?
While the water is warm enough to go without, we recommend wearing a 3mm wetsuit for protection.

How long are the boat rides?
Most wrecks are within a 25 minute boat ride.

When will I receive my documents?
E-tickets and vouchers are sent approximately 3 weeks prior to your departure.

What’s the time difference?
Truk is 17 hours ahead of Los Angeles and 14 hours ahead of New York.
