LISSENUNG ISLAND RESORT

Following a 1 1/2 hour flight from Port Moresby to Kavieng, a 20 minute boat ride will have you on the private island of Lissenung. Just steps from the sand among tall palms is Lissenung Island Resort. The resort consists of 4 traditional bungalows with a total of 7 rooms which can accommodate up to 14 guests. The bungalows are spread out over the island, allowing plenty of privacy for guests. All have verandas with comfortable chairs.

Three of the four bungalows house two double or twin rooms. The last bungalow is a one-room bungalow. All rooms feature mosquito netting, ceiling fan, large desk, wardrobe, 240 volt Australian sockets, and 24-hour electricity. The beautiful breeze that reaches every corner of the island ensures that no air-conditioning is necessary. Six of the rooms have their own ensuite bathroom, each with toilet, basin and shower. For one room, the share facilities are just a short stroll away. Although the water in your shower is not heated, the warm environment usually ensures a pleasant water temperature.

The main house offers comfortable chairs on a sandy floor and it is here where cold drinks and delicious meals featuring fresh seafood, fruits & vegetables await you.

Resort amenities include a PADI dive shop and a myriad of other activities including snorkeling, surfing, fishing, sailing, village tours & land tours. You can easily circumnavigate the entire island in about 10-15 minutes. Deckchairs and a bottle of wine on the beach at sunset are the perfect way to end an exciting day of diving.
