| Do I need a passport?
Travelers must possess a passport valid for at least six months past the
date of entry, an onward/return airline ticket, and proof of sufficient
funds. A 60-day tourist visa can be obtained upon arrival at Jacksons
International Airport in Port Moresby.

Do I need shots/immunizations?
For legal reasons, we cannot make official recommendations regarding shots
or immunizations. Please consult with your physician or visit www.cdc.gov
for more information.
What voltage electricity is used?
240 volts. Some hotels use 110 volts as well. We recommend carrying your
own adaptor or converter.
What are the luggage restrictions?
Please check with the airlines you are flying with for international and
domestic luggage requirements and restrictions. On Air Niugini, the normal
luggage limit is 20kgs/44lbs (international) and 16kgs/35lbs (domestic).
Scuba divers, however, are allowed to carry an extra 15kgs/35lbs. Cabin
baggage is limited to 5kgs/11lbs per person. Air Niugini honours the international
allowance for international passengers in direct transit on same day to
a domestic port in PNG. Travel must be exclusively on Air Niugini to be
entitled to this special baggage allowance.
What airlines fly to PNG?
Jacksons International Airport in Port Moresby will be your main point
of entry. It is located 7 miles from the city. Direct flights from Australia,
the Solomon Islands, Singapore, and the Philippines are serviced by PNG's
international carrier, Air Niugini.
What kind of planes?
Air Niugini uses 767’s, Fokker F100s, and Fokker F28s.
What are the seating configurations?
The 767's have 2-3-2 seating configurations. The Fokker F100s & F28s
have 2-3 seating configurations.
Will someone pick us up at the airport?
Loloata Island Resort – Look for the Loloata Island Resort
courtesy van that will be parked in the arrival area of Jacksons International
Airport in Port Moresby. It is a 20 minute drive from the airport to the
resort.
Star Dancer and MV Febrina – From Jacksons International
Airport in Port Moresby, you will take a flight to either Hoskins airport
(HKN)/Walindi Resort or Rabaul airport (RAB). An air-conditioned
bus will then transfer guests to either the Walindi wharf or Rabaul’s
commercial dock.
Telita – From Jacksons International Airport in Port
Moresby, you will take a 50 minute domestic flight on Air Niugini to Gurney
Airport. Air Niugini flies to Gurney Airport twice every Friday. A shuttle
will transfer you from Gurney Airport to Alotau where the Telita is docked.
The drive from the airport to Alotau is 20 minutes.
Tawali Resort – From Jacksons International Airport in
Port Moresby, you will take a 50 minute domestic flight on Air Niugini
to Gurney Airport. Air Niugini flies to Gurney Airport twice every Friday.
You will then be shuttled by bus and boat to Tawali Resort. The land and
boat trip will take about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Walindi Resort – From Jacksons International Airport
in Port Moresby, you'll take a domestic flight via Air Niugini to Hoskins
Airport in Kimbe. The Walindi air-conditioned mini buses will pick up
guests and shuttle them to the resort. The land trip will take 1 hour.
Lissenung Island Resort – From Jacksons International
Airport in Port Moresby, you'll take a 1 hour and 30 minute domestic flight
to Kavieng followed by a 20 minute boat ride to the resort.
Tufi Dive Resort – From Jacksons International Airport
in Port Moresby, you will board a 55 minute Air Niugini flight to Tufi.
The resort is a 3 minute walk from the airport. No need for transfers.
Tropic Air also offers private chartered flights for 9 people.
What’s the diving like?
Loloata – wrecks, hard and soft corals, abundant reef
fishes, excellent muck dives, excellent underwater photography, occasional
sharks and rays
Tufi – hammerhead sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, turtles,
barracuda, occasional dugongs, wrecks, muck diving, nudibranchs, mandarin
fish, pygmy seahorses, hard and soft corals
Milne Bay – soft corals, crinoids, large pelagics including
manta rays, hammerheads, and occasional whale sharks, muck diving, underwater
macro photography
Kimbe Bay – soft corals, muck diving, sharks
Kavieng – muck diving, wrecks, drift dives, hard and
soft corals, large pelagics including sharks, rays, barracudas, and tuna
Madang – drop offs, drift dives, intact wrecks, large
pelagics, soft corals
What thickness wetsuit do you recommend?
While the water can get warm enough to go without, we recommend divers
wear a 3mm wetsuit for protection.
How long are the boat rides?
Loloata – Distance from the resort to the dive sites
ranges from less than a mile to 21 miles. Most of the dive sites are within
4 miles.
Lissenung – 20 to 30 minute boat rides
Walindi Resort – The nearest dive site is 5 minutes away,
the furthest is 75 minutes away.
Liveaboards – Enjoy the luxury of cruising around in
your own floating hotel that brings you directly to the dive sites.
When will my dive day start and end?
Loloata Island Resort – Boat departs the jetty at 8am
for 2 morning dives and returns to the resort at noon for lunch. Boat
departs again at 2pm for one afternoon dive and returns to the resort
around 4:30pm. Night dives are also offered upon request.
Walindi Dive Resort – Divers head out at 9am for a two-tank
dive and return around 4pm. Lunch is served between dives on one of the
deserted islands. A third dive can be pre-arranged at the resort.
Lissenung – Divers head out at 9am for 2 dives and return
for lunch at 1pm. Leave for your third dive at 2:30pm. Dinner at 7pm followed
by a night dive at 8pm makes for a full day.
What’s not included?
Airport departure tax (usually included in airfare), marine park fees,
dive equipment rental

E-tickets and vouchers are sent approximately 3 weeks prior to your departure.
