Where is
Cabo San Lucas located?
Cabo San Lucas is part of the municipality of Los Cabos, located at
the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula in the State of Baja California
Sur. It lies south of San Diego, California.
How long are the flights to Cabo?
Non-stop flights from Los Angeles to Cabo take approximately 2 hours
and 20 minutes. Flights from New York take about 6 and a half hours,
but total flight time can be longer when layovers are involved.
What
currency do they use?
They use the Mexican peso. For almost all purchases, the US dollar is
accepted with change in pesos. It is a good idea to bring smaller denominations
of the US dollar as sometimes it is difficult to break a $100 bill.
What
language do they speak?
Spanish is the official language. English is spoken in the main tourist
areas.
Do
I need a passport?
U.S. citizens are advised to have a valid passport upon entering Mexico.
Upon entry, you will be given a blue tourist card, which will serve
as your tourist visa for up to 90 days.

They use 110 volts. Same as US.

What
airlines fly to Cabo San Lucas?
American Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, AeroMexico,
Mexicana, Alaska Airlines and Frontier Airlines all fly to Cabo.
Will
someone pick us up at the airport?
It depends on the hotel/resort that you choose to stay at. However,
when it comes to your diving transfers, the dive centers usually provide
roundtrip hotel/dive center transfers. Please check with the dive shop
that will be handling your tours.
What’s
the diving like?
The Sea of Cortez is one of the most fertile waters in the world. You’ll
dive with tropical fish as well as pelagics such as whale sharks, giant
manta rays and hammerhead sharks. Sea lions, turtles, eels and huge
groupers are also common sights here. Gray whales are present at certain
times of the year. Generally, the water is warm and the currents are
gentle. Water temperature averages between 64 and 70 degrees from February
to May and hits its warmest at 78 to 86 degrees between August and November.
When
will my dive day start and end?
Morning dives usually depart between 8:30 and 9:30am. Afternoon dives
depart between 1:30 and 2:00pm.
What
thickness wetsuit do you recommend?
Although the water can get warm enough to go without, we recommend wearing
a 3mm wetsuit for protection.
How
long are the boat rides?
Local dive sites can be as close as a 10 minute boat ride.
